Musicians in the Classroom

rei conducting

Utah Symphony is pleased to send our musicians into secondary schools.

This program is made possible in part because of generous funding from the Elizabeth Brown Dee Fund for Music in the Schools and the Professional Outreach Program to Schools which is funded by the Utah State Legislature and administered by the Utah State Board of Education. We anticipate that this service will also build stronger bonds between your programs and our orchestra musicians.

Musician visits can include

  • conducting your school ensemble in rehearsal
  • leading a sectional rehearsal
  • sitting in with a section in rehearsal.

Scheduling will need to work around the musicians’ rehearsal and concert schedule.  We’ll do our best to match times that are convenient for your ensemble schedule.

Due to our funding for this program, we can provide Musicians in the Classroom free of charge to Utah Public and Charter schools; Private schools may also participate in this program for a fee.

To request a musician visit, please fill out the application.

We will attempt to reply to all requests within two business days.
