If you'd like to learn more about a performance—come to an enlightening lecture or check out our online learning materials

  • Utah Symphony
    • Masterworks pre-concert lectures begin at 6:45 PM (45 minutes before the concert) in Abravanel Hall. Pre-concert lectures are given on the orchestra level of Abravanel Hall. The lecture is free with your symphony ticket.

  • Utah Opera
    • Preludes lectures by Principal coach Carol Anderson offers insights before each Utah Opera production at the Capitol Theatre. This 25-minute introduction includes historical context, musical highlights, and a behind-the-scenes perspective. Preludes are free with your opera ticket and begin one hour before curtain time in the orchestra section of the Capitol Theatre.

Finishing Touches

Utah Symphony Finishing Touches offer a behind-the-scenes look at our orchestra during four Masterworks rehearsals. Seating is general admission and includes light refreshments in the lobby prior to the rehearsal. Please note that these events are working rehearsals and programming is chosen from that weekend's selections at the discretion of the conductor.
